Concept & Care of Rock Salt Lamp... :
What is rock salt?
Rock salt was formed many millions of years ago when the seas dried up.
Gradual evaporation, and the conditions prevailing in the interior of the
earth, resulted in the formation of crystalline structures, which give rock
salt its topical appearance.
What is the reason rock salt is available in different colors?
Natural inclusions such as ion (red) or manganese (Yellow) give the rock
salt its coloration
Why use rock salt lamp?
Rock salt lamps are used for indoor illumination. Electrical appliances,
tobacco smoke and inadequate ventilation increase the consideration of positively
charged ions in the air. Rock salt lamps discharge negatively changed ions
thereby re-establishing the natural state of equilibrium, thus producing
a pleasant atmosphere.
Weight :
The action radius depends upon the size of a room. A room of 20 square
meters requires a lamp consisting of at least 7 kg of rock salt .
How don I clean my rock salt lamp?
To remove dust, wipe the lamp with a towel ore wipe it carefully with a
wet sponge-after cleaning switch on the lamp for a couple of hours. That
will dry moisture as well. Any efflorescence can be easily removed with
a brush.
What is the effect of the moisture on rock salt lamp?
Salt crystal hygroscopic; This means it attacks moisture from the environment,
so keep your lamp and tea light holder away from the water and damp environment
when not on!
Be ware of the following situation that requires special attention and care.
Evaporative coolers please ensure your salt crystal lamp is on at the same
time your cooler and place it away from direct contact with the moisturized
air flow of the cooler vents.
Convection currents in your house the additional natural moisture that
flows and congregates near windows, if placed on a wooden window sill salt
crystal will attract this access and may cause damage to the wood. If you
chose a place a salt crystal on a wooden sill please ensure it has a waterproof
base (e.g. saucer) to protect the wood. Always wipe down with a soft cloth
and store away from the window when not in use.
Humid climates or damp areas such as bathrooms your salt crystal will continue
to attract moisture. Please ensure that your salt crystal lamp is stored
in a dried place when not in use. Depending on the level of dampness/humidity
we recommend that you store the electric lamps in plastic bag after they
have cooled sufficiently.
Switching them on (or lighting a candle, if it’s a tea lights lamp) will
ensure that the stay dry. In fact, it is the lamp’s ability to draw moisture
from the air-releasing moisture when warmed up by the bulb or candle, which
creates the special ionizing and purifying effect.
Some times, particularly in moist or humid conditions, the lamp surface
may be slightly damp to the touch, lighting it for a few a few hours dries
it very quickly, if crystallization occur, just wiping with a damp cloth
will get rid of it.
For the best result in purifying air it is recommended that you light your
lamp ever day. It is not safe to leave a candle burning unattended under
any circumstances. For electric lamps we recommend you leave them on for
as long as possible this will not only maintain and contact negative ionizing
process but also repel excess moisture build up around the lamp

How don I clean my rock salt lamp?
The electric salt crystal lamp tacks a 25W candle bulb. The extra large
(up to 40cm, 10-15kg) electrical salt crystal lamp takes up to a 60W bulb.
For a dimmer glow a 15W bulb may also be used for either variety.
To the replace the bulb you’ll need is a Phillips head (star) screwdriver,
1) Ensure your lamp is unplugged and turned off
2) Turn the lamp over so that you can see the underside of the base
3) Carefully remove the two screws that are deeply embedded in the bottom
of the wooden base (not the screws on the metallic strip).
4) Remove the base from the salt crystal.
5) Unscrew the used bulb and dispose of carefully, screw in your new 25W
bulb.
6) Reserve the process 4 to 1 and enjoy.
How to change candle and light rock salt lamp?
Initially, lighting the tea light salt crystal lamps may take a couple
of attempts. There’s a “trick” to lighting the tea light and dropping it
into the hole without extinguishing it.
The easy way is to use extra long matches or a “long nosed” BBQ gas lighter,
but a more “fun” way is to learn to hold on to the lit candle about partway
down the hole before releasing it gently. Using 8-houre tea light candle
solves the problem easily, as the candle has a shorter distance to fall
into the hole.
Removing the used candle is very easy. Use your finger, or sticks a pen
through the opening at the bottom, made for this purpose. After attempting
several times you will be an expert in lighting the tea light lamp!
Due to the heavy, solid, nature of the Salt Crystal Tea-Light Candle holders
they are very stable and unlikely to be affected by wind.
Commonsense and care should be taken when small children and /or pets are
in the vicinity of any flame.
Be ware that hot liquate-wax can splash out onto clothes, furnishings or
skin if the lamp is moved whilst candle is burning or within a short period
of time after it is extinguished. |
